Ingredients

Protein Coffee
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee or 1 cup hot brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder about 25–30 grams
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes omit if using hot coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon natural almond butter optional
  • Sweetener to taste 1–2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup, or stevia

Equipment

  • Blender or immersion blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Coffee maker or kettle
  • Tall drinking glass
  • Spoon or stirring stick

Method

  1. Brew or prepare 1 cup of cold brew coffee, or brew hot coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Pour the cooled coffee into a blender to create the liquid base.
  3. Add 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk to the blender.
  4. Add 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, ensuring the full scoop goes into the liquid to prevent clumping.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (if using), and 1 tablespoon almond butter (if using) for extra flavor and creaminess.
  6. Sweeten to taste with 1–2 teaspoons of your chosen sweetener.
  7. If serving cold, add 1/2 cup ice cubes. Blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and frothy.
  8. Pour the protein coffee into a tall glass and serve immediately while cold and frothy.

Notes

For a warmer version, skip the ice cubes and blend immediately after heating your coffee to about 150°F. Adjust sweetness based on your protein powder’s flavor profile.
