Ingredients
  

Cocktail
  • 2 ounces 60 ml mezcal
  • 1 ounce 30 ml fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce 15 ml Cointreau or triple sec
  • 0.25 ounce 7.5 ml agave nectar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Sea salt as needed for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wheel or wedge for garnish

  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Strainer

  • Small shallow dish for salt

Method
 

  1. Optional: Rim a chilled glass with sea salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into a shallow dish of salt.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 cup of fresh ice cubes.
  3. Add 2 ounces mezcal, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 0.5 ounce Cointreau, and 0.25 ounce agave nectar to the shaker.
  4. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the exterior is frosty.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass, either straight up or over fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding an extra 0.25 ounce of agave nectar if desired. Always use freshly squeezed lime juice for the brightest flavor.
