Ingredients
  

Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Gather and measure all ingredients before you start mixing.
  2. Add the mayonnaise to a small mixing bowl as the creamy base.
  3. Stir in the ketchup until the mixture is an even light peach color.
  4. Mix in the sweet pickle relish, including a bit of its liquid for tang.
  5. Add yellow mustard, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder; stir until fully combined.
  6. For heat, sprinkle in cayenne pepper if using and blend well.
  7. Stir in fresh lemon juice, then season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate 30 minutes for flavors to meld, or serve immediately.

Notes

Keeps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Flavors deepen after a day of chilling.
