Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces bourbon whiskey
  • 0.75 ounces amaretto liqueur
  • 4 to 5 ounces Dr Pepper soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish optional
  • Orange slice for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Highball glass or rocks glass
  • Jigger for measuring spirits
  • Bar spoon for stirring
  • Ice (preferably large cubes)
  • Bottle opener

Method
 

  1. Gather your bourbon, amaretto, and Dr Pepper.
  2. Chill your glass in the freezer for two minutes.
  3. Fill your chilled glass with a generous handful of ice cubes.
  4. Measure 1.5 ounces of bourbon and pour it over the ice.
  5. Add 0.75 ounces of amaretto liqueur into the glass.
  6. Stir the bourbon and amaretto together gently for about ten seconds.
  7. Slowly pour 4 to 5 ounces of Dr Pepper over the stirred spirits.
  8. Gently stir the cocktail for three to four seconds.
  9. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or an orange slice if desired.
  10. Serve immediately.
